Situation:

An incoming leader needed advice turning around an academic institution in financial distress.

Problem:

At a time when state funding and other revenues had receded, and faced with strong resistance to change from some faculty, the new leader need to get a handle on the organization’s finances, create new sources of revenue, and secure buy-in from skeptical and demoralized faculty.

Action:

We provided coaching and advice on an as-needed basis, and helped the leader to see new strategies for dealing with critical relationships. After a year we conducted confidential interviews with key stakeholders to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Result:

The result? The organization has turned the corner financially; faculty have supported major changes as they have been launched; the leader has been identified as highly effective.
